How do you say A'Court? Michèle A’Court
Writer/Performer

"Female Comedian of the Decade" - NZ Comedy Awards 2010.

Simple questions often have very complicated answers. For most freelancers, the question, “So, what have you been up to?” prompts so many possible answers, our synapses fuse. For me, there’s the stand-up comedy, the solo shows, the magazine column, regular radio gigs, television, after-dinner speaking, conference hosting, voice work, the book reviews, and the writing I do for various magazines...

So this website is my way of answering that question in a way that works for you.

If you want to know about my live comedy gigs, hit the “Dates” icon to find out where and when you can see me next – in Auckland, the rest of New Zealand, or somewhere else in the world.

That “Dates” button will also work if you want to know when you can hear me each week on various radio networks. And that’s also where I’ll let you know where my writing appears next – my weekly column in "Your Weekend" magazine published everywhere except Auckland and Dunedin, as well as other occasional pieces.

Hit “Reviews” and you’ll find out what other people think of my work; and “Bio” gives you a full rundown of my life so far. It’s kind of long, but I’ve been around a while.

And there’s a “Blog” for when I feel moved by an issue de jour, or to whack up some piece of writing that may or may not have found a publisher elsewhere.

If none of that answers your particular, “So what have you been up to?” question, then feel free to contact me here.
